The large, temporary installation Smile is now open at the Chelsea College of Arts, for London Design Festival, led by Alison Brooks Architects in partnership with material sponsor American Hardwood Export Council and structural engineer Arup.
The 34-metre-long curved timber tube is an LDF 2017 Landmark Project, pushing the spatial and structural expression of cross-laminated timber (CLT). SEAM’s lighting imbues the inhabitable sculpture with identity and performance at night.
Smile is showing now until 12th October.
