Lighting Design | SEAM Design
We are proud to be part of the transformation of London Liverpool Street Station, a once-in-a-generation redevelopment of one of the city’s most significant transport landmarks.
Led by ACME for Network Rail and partners, the project brings new life to a historic and much-used public space — introducing bold architecture, carefully integrated heritage, and a vision for accessibility, sustainability, and civic pride.
As lighting designers, SEAM was appointed to develop a concept that brings coherence, legibility and atmosphere to this dynamic setting. From the large, airy volumes of the concourse to the intimate moments within terraces and roof gardens, our strategy weaves light into the structural and material narrative. Lighting is used to reveal rhythm and detail, support wayfinding and security, and contribute to the night-time identity of the station and its surroundings.
This is a project close to home — quite literally. Our studio began just around the corner, and Liverpool Street has always been part of our daily rhythm. To now help shape its next chapter is both an honour and a responsibility we take seriously.
Planning has now been submitted to the City of London. We look forward to the next chapter in collaboration with ACME, Network Rail, and the wider design and engineering team.
